You have seven and a half minutes and the whole world listening.

On the stage

• Each performer gets 7½ minutes (an 8-minute slot including changeover).
• Perform up to two pieces within your time.
• At 7½ minutes, you will be cut off. Plan your set to finish strong.

Live stream and photo release

This open mic will be live streamed. By signing up, you agree to be photographed and live streamed for documentation, journalistic, and promotional purposes by Root and Rise Learning Project and Master Griot Publishing.

Keep it family friendly

This open mic is part of the Kelly Green Day Festival, a family-friendly event. We are looking for wildly creative, esteem-building art and entertainment.

• No visual or lyrical content that glorifies crime, drugs, drug use, abuse, or abuse of women.
• No degradation of African Americans or women.
• No sexually explicit material that is inappropriate for children.
